Amtali Upazila

Amtali (Bengali: আমতলী) is an Upazila of Barguna District in the Division of Barisal, Bangladesh.

Geography

Amtali is located at . It has 45804 households and a total area of 720.76 km².

Demographics

As of the 1991^[update] Bangladesh census, Amtali has a population of 244438. Males constitute 50.39% of the population, and females 49.61%. This Upazila's adult (aged 18 and over) population is 119889. Amtali has an average literacy rate of 33.9% (7+ years); the national literacy average is 62.4%.^[1]

Amtali has 02 Police Station(Amtoli & Taltoli)10 Unions/Wards, 66 Mauzas/Mahallas, and 186 villages.
