Ampelonas (Greek: Αμπελώνας) is a former municipality in the Larissa regional unit, Thessaly, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Tyrnavos, of which it is a municipal unit.[1] Population 8,407 (2001).

Ampelonas is a rural area and and its main product are grapes and of course, wine and tsipouro made from the grapes. Cotton, cereals, corn as well as almonds, pears and peaches are grown in Ampelonas. Moreover there are cultivations of fruits and vegetables like cabbages, peppers, tomatoes, melons, watermelons etc. In Ampelonas there is also a famous "Wine Festival", held once a year since 1959.
