Amedeo Giorgi serves on the faculty of Saybrook Graduate School. He was an early member of the "Duquesne School" of psychology and is credited with formalizing phenomenological methods for psychology.[1] Giorgi is also the author of several books and articles concerning human science and phenomenological psychology.[2][3]
Giorgi was a key figure in the history of the humanistic psychology movement, alongside such notable pioneers as Carl Rogers and Fritz Perls.[4]
Giorgi was also the founding editor of the Journal of Phenomenological Psychology and was its editor for 25 years. In May 2010, he was the invited speaker of the annual conference of the Interdisciplinary Coalition of North American Phenomenologists.[5]
