Amaranthus hypochondriacus is an ornamental plant commonly known as the Prince-of-Wales-feather or the Prince's feather.[1] It is originally from Mexico where it is endemic where it is called Quelite, Blero[2] and Quintonil.[3][4]
In Africa, like many other species in the family Amaranthaceae, it is valued as source of food.[5]
