The Alène is a 56 km (35 mi) long river in the Nièvre département, central France. Its source is at Poil, about 3 km (1.9 mi) west of the village, in the parc naturel régional du Morvan. It flows generally west. It is a left tributary of the Aron into which it flows at Cercy-la-Tour, about 15 km (9.3 mi) east-northeast of Decize.
