The 1974 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was played from May to September, 1974. Galway were playing in their 3rd All-Ireland Final in 4 years but the it wasn't to be third time lucky for the "Tribesmen" as they lost another final, this time to Dublin. The final score was 0-14 to 1-06. The Player of the Year award was awarded to Kevin Heffernan, the first, and only time a manager has received the award so far.
