All I Need is a Little Bit
"A Little Bit" (European Edition) or "All I Need is a Little Bit" (US edition), is a song featured on Madeleine Peyroux's third solo album, Half the Perfect World and it is a self-penned composition with the help of Jesse Harris and the producer Larry Klein.
Like other Peyroux songs, it failed to chart.[1]
Meaning
The song is about appreciating the simple things in life and not the accessories ("You got a lot of money saved/ No use takin' it all to your grave/ Ain't worth nothing/ If you ain't feeling fine" and "You know daddy gave you everything on a silver platter/ but the one thing he never gave you/ was the one thing that really matters").
Music video
In the music video, Peyroux is singing in the streets with her guitar case open to gain some money (pretty much like in the Don't Wait Too Long video), meanwhile the characters of the song appear in the café nearby. Rachel Hurd-Wood made an appearance as the waitress in the video. In the beginning of the video, it is possible to hear a little bit of Peyroux's cover version of the Charlie Chaplin song "Smile", which is also on the album.
