Aliza Vellani is a Canadian television actress, who currently plays the role of Layla Siddiqui in Little Mosque on the Prairie. Born in Vancouver to immigrants from East Africa. Vellani is a university student at Simon Fraser University who has trained extensively in both acting and dancing, including with the Vancouver drama school Tarlington Training.^[1]

Little Mosque is her first professional role.
