Alice Practice is the debut release from Crystal Castles. The release was limited to 500 copies on 7" vinyl and sold out in 3 days, driving collectors to eBay where the vinyl has sold for $300 in mint condition. The track Alice Practice itself is a soundcheck which was secretly recorded by the sound engineer before the band launched into a recording session of 5 songs in 2005. [2][3] It was released on Merok Records on 9 July, 2006. The track "Air War" garnered attention from prominent indie website Pitchfork media. The track "Dolls" is exclusive to this release and has never been available in any other format. The track "Alice Practice" was later performed on the British television series Skins. After being featured on the show the demands for the Alice Practice EP grew rapidly.[4] The song "Air War" is also used as an intro for hardcore band Centurion. In October 2011, NME placed the song "Alice Practice" at number 29 on its list "150 Best Tracks of the Past 15 Years".[5]
