Alex Rider: The Gadgets is a short factbook by Anthony Horowitz, author of the Alex Rider series. It was released on 3 October 2005 in the UK, published by Walker Books.[1] The book shows blueprints of the gadgets that Alex, the novel's 14-year-old protagonist, has used.[2]
The first released edition contained gadgets from the first five novels. The second edition released after Ark Angel, added gadgets from the sixth novel. As such, the book does not contain any of the gadgets from Snakehead, Crocodile Tears or the new book Scorpia Rising.
As well as blueprints for the gadgets, the book contains fictional letters from Smithers, the MI6 gadget expert, to further explain the gadgets.
The GameBoy systems described are a different design from their real-world counterparts, possibly to avoid copyright issues.
