Aleksei Kapler
Aleksei (born Lazar) Yakovlevich Kapler (also Alexei, Russian: Алексей (born Лазарь) Яковлевич Каплер); (15 september 1903[1] – 11 September 1979) was a Soviet filmmaker, screenwriter, actor, and writer. He was known as an anchor and director of the TV program Kinopanorama (a cinema overview). In 1941, he was awarded the Stalin Prize.
He is also known for his brief romance with Joseph Stalin's daughter, Svetlana Alliluyeva. It is alleged that the latter fact was the reason for Kapler to be declared an "English spy" and sentenced to a five-year exile in Vorkuta in 1942 and he worked at Vorkuta prisoner's theatre[2].
