The Al-Mutairi is a powerful tribe in Kuwaiti politics. It has its strongest base in the fourth district and fifth electoral districts, with an estimated 16,000 to 17,000 voters. Of the current fifty elected members of the Kuwait National Assembly, six belong to the Al-Mutairi tribe. These include Daifallah Bouramiya, Hussein Quwaian Al-Mutairi, Mohammed Hayef AlـMutairi, Mubarak Al-Mutairi, Musallam AlـBarrak, and Rija Hujailan Al-Mutairi.[1]
