Aisha Bawany Academy

Aisha Bawany Academy is a school located in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, where it was established by the Aisha Bawany Waqf.[1] The foundation stone was laid in 1957 but the school became operational in 1961.

The founders of the school had a mission to empower the new middle class of the nascent country with modern education. An emphasis is placed on teaching English, science, mathematics and physical education.

The Aisha Bawany School is located on main Shahrah-e-Faisal road (one of the major thoroughfares of Karachi), opposite the Dadabhoy Centre. The school has two buildings, side by side, one is for females, and the other for males. Keeping with the tradition of having separate classrooms for the sexes while sharing all other campus resources, the schoool has been able to strike a balance in a historically conservative society while still imparting a co-educational experience.
