Ahmad Benali (born 7 February 1992 in Manchester, England) is an English footballer playing as a midfielder for Rochdale in Football League One on loan from Manchester City.

Career

Benali started his career in the youth team of Manchester City, and signed his first professional contract in the summer of 2010.[2] In August 2011 he joined League One side Rochdale on a season-long loan.[3] He made his professional debut on 4 October 2011 in a Football League Trophy match against Walsall, which ended in a 1–1 draw.[4] His League debut came on 15 October 2011, in a 2–2 draw with Colchester United at Spotland, replacing Matthew Barnes-Homer in the second half.[5]

Personal Life

Benali attended Stretford Grammar School from 2003 to 2008. He has a younger brother, Omar Benali who has joined the Manchester City Football academy.
