International career

Abdel-Halim is a left-winger who can also operate as a left wing-back and as an attacking central midfielder, Abdul-Haleem has always been known as the “Asian Roberto Carlos” due to his thunderous left-foot and long range shots, thumping free-kicks and corner kicks, which are similar to that of the former Brazilian international Roberto Carlos. He has earned a reputation for scoring spectacular long-range goals.

Many fans of Al-Wahdat and Jordan refer to him as the following nicknames Al-Andalib, Haleem Al-Wahdat, and Al-Madfaaji (العندليب ، حليم الوحدات ، والمدفعجي)

Abdel-Halim won the Jordanian Championship with Al-Wahdat in 2008 and 2009 and the club have won the title on 11 occasions, ranking them the second most successful side in Jordanian football history behind Al-Faisaly Club (Amman). Al-Wahdat are again challenging for the Jordanian Pro League title during the 2010-11 campaign.[2]

Abdel-Halim is also a member of the Jordan national team and helped his country to reach the 2011 AFC Asian Cup in Qatar after a dramatic 2-1 victory over Singapore in Amman on match day 6 because of his brilliant corner kick to his teammate Anas Bani Yaseen, which allowed Anas to score the winning goal at 60 min with a header.

He was a member and participated in every one of Jordan's matches in the 2011 Asian Cup. They were drawn with Japan, Saudi Arabia, and Syria in Group B for the tournament, until they were narrowly defeated by Uzbekistan in the quarterfinals.

About two months later after the 2011 Asian Cup, he entered as a substitute in an international friendly between Jordan and North Korea on 29 March 2011, and as he did, he received an injury at around 78 min of the match, an injury which lasted ever since then, which also delayed him from playing anymore football until September, almost 9 months of no football. And because of his long lasting injury and resting, he missed many matches with Al-Wahdat (In the league, Jordan Cup, Shield Cup, and Super Cup), as well as with his national team (Friendlies and 2014 WC qualifying). However, Abdel-Halim says he will return to playing football with his club and national team once he is completely healed and has completed all his training, since he was least able to return for training sessions. The announcement of his return to football first took place in September and then so on. He announced that he will return as soon as possible and might be after December 2011.
