Afetes (Greek: Αφέτες, older form: Afetai) is a village and a former municipality in Magnesia, Thessaly, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality South Pelion, of which it is a municipal unit.[1] Population 1,838 (2001). The seat of the municipality was in Neochori. The name dates back to ancient times.

The Pelion mountains dominate the area, a valley covers the central portion, and farmlands are within the village which produce fruit, olives and vegetables. The Pagasetic Gulf dominates the western portion.
