PGPIM is a one-year, full time, residential, postgraduate programme in infrastructure management. It was launched in September 2009.
All one-year MBA programmes currently being offered by Indian business schools are essentially general management ones. Some business schools offer one-year programmes with specialization in either ports and shipping or oil and gas, but no reputed foreign or Indian business school offers a full-time single-year programme covering the spectrum of infrastructure and allied sectors. PGPIM aims at filling this gap.
Courses offered in PGPIM will employ a mix of pedagogical methods including Case Discussion & Analysis, Lectures, Group Exercises, Simulations, Presentations, Role Plays, Project Work and Field Visits to enhance the effectiveness and richness of learning and in-class experience. Special emphasis will be laid on the Case Method as a dominant mode of instruction.
PGPIM was designed by a Programme Design Committee under the Chairmanship of Prof. G. Raghuram, Indian Railway chair professor at IIM Ahmedabad. Raghuram and other academic members on the Programme Design Committee possess rich experience in the design and conduct of the one-year programme, PGPX, offered by IIM Ahmedabad.
The first batch of the Post Graduate Programme in Infrastructure Management (PGPIM) (2009–2010) consisted of 21 participates with an average age of 28 years and average work experience of five years. All 21 participants have been placed. 100% placement of the first batch within one month of completion of the programme is a unique achievement for the AIIM as a newly established institution.
The second batch of Post Graduate Programme in Infrastructure Management (PGPIM) (2010-2011) consisted of 19 participants with average age of 28 years and average work experience of 5 years. The second batch has achieved 100% placement in terms of at least one job offer received and 90% placement in terms of job offers accepted within five weeks of completion of the programme.
AIIM, in collaboration with the European Business School, Germany offered Top Management Programme on Business Strategy & Leadership from AIIM campus for top-level executives of the Adani Group Companies.
