Adam McNaughtan is a Scottish folk singer, noted for his songs on post-War Glasgow. Amongst his works are The Buildings and The Jeely Piece Song, a humorous song about tower blocks and Where Is The Glasgow That I Used To Know?, which was quoted by Prince Charles at the opening of the 1988 Glasgow Garden Festival.[1]
He was a teacher of English at the now-defunct Rutherglen Academy, and later Head of English at Cathkin High School. He later owned a second-hand book shop in Parnie Street in Glasgow.
He was also head of English at John Steet Secondary, Tullis Street Bridgeton in the 1970s
He is credited as the author of "Now You're Gone", a light-hearted country-and-western parody sung by Ed Miller on "Live At The Cactus Cafe" from Wellfield Records.
