Achra is a coastal village in Sindhudurg district, Maharashtra, India. Achra has got a picturesque beach and many families from chitpavan community like "Vaze's" claim it to be their native town. Most of in Achra Bhandari community. Names of most Bhandari are Gaonkar, Pange, Patil Dnyneshwar, Malvankar, Pednekar, Achrekar, Moravekar. Achra is famous for its Rameshwar Temple which is the nerve center of this village. Lots of devotes visit this temple especially during the Ram Navmi Festival which marks the birth of Shri Ram. Achra has produced many veterans like Pt Bhargavram Achrekar, Ustad Vasant Acharekar, M.R Acharekar and is an center for a lot of cultural activities.
