Abdelhameed al Zaidani (Arabic: عبدالحميد الزيداني) (born December 1, 1982) is a Libyan footballer. He currently plays for Akhdar in the Libyan Premier League. He is a striker, and wears the number 11 jersey.[1]
Al-Zaidani began his career at the Sabha club Sharrara. He performed well for the squad during the 2003-04 season, scoring 8 goals despite Sharrara being relegated in the Relegation Play-Off.
Al-Zaidani's exploits earned him a move to Sweahly in July 2004. However, he suffered a barren spell at the club, and returned to Sharrara in January 2005. In the 2005-06 season, he scored 7 goals to help keep the club up. He scored 3 goals the following season, prior to Sharrara being kicked out of the league.
Hence, al-Zaidani moved to Akhdar in February 2007. He scored 2 goals on his debut against Olomby, and scored a further two.
Al-Zaidani had his most fruitful season in 2007-08, scoring 21 goals in the league, and a further two in the Confederation Cup.[2]
He got into double figures in the 2008-09 season, but failed to reach the heady heights of the previous season, scoring just 10 in the league, and 1 in the Libyan Cup win over Ahly Benghazi.
