ARTnews is an arts magazine based in New York, founded by James Clarence Hyde in 1902 as Hyde’s Weekly Art News. It is published 11 times a year.[2][3]
ARTnews covers all art, from ancient to Post-modernism. It includes news dispatches from correspondents, investigative reports, reviews of exhibitions, and profiles of artists and collectors.
ARTnews editor and publisher is Milton Esterow, a former New York Times reporter and assistant to the cultural news editor. ARTnews critics and correspondents include Arthur Danto, Linda Yablonsky, Barbara Pollock, Hilarie Sheets, Robert Storr, and Glenn D. Lowry.
Awards
ARTnews has won 43 awards in the last three decades, including the George Polk Award, the National Magazine Award for General Excellence, the National Headliner Award, and the National Arts Club Distinguished Citation for Merit.
