The 3 Street Southwest and 4 Street Southwest platforms are stops in downtown Calgary on the city's C-Train light rail system.
The 3 Street Southwest platform is used by eastbound trains, and the 4 Street Southwest platform is used by westbound trains. Both platforms are located on the sides of 7 Avenue South.
The 3 Street W station, located between 3 Street & 2 Street SW and adjacent to TD Square (shopping center) opened on May 25, 1981 as part of Calgary's original LRT line from 8 Street W to Anderson. The original station was closed on April 20, 2009 and demolished immediatley with the new station constructed in its place. The new station opened on March 12, 2010. .[1][2]
The 4 Street W station, located between 4 Street & 5 Street SW opened on May 25, 1981 as part of Calgary's original LRT line from 8 Street W to Anderson. The original station was closed on January 7, 2010 and demolished immediatley with the new station constructed in its place. The new station opened on January 21, 2011.[3]
Like all refurbished 7 Avenue platforms, the entire sidewalk slopes up to the station at both ends and the platform can handle 4-car trains.
The station registered an average of 16,300 and 11,100 daily boardings in 2005 (for the 3rd and 4th Street platforms respectively).[4]
