The 2012 Tour Down Under is the 14th edition of the Tour Down Under stage race. It takes place from 17 January to 22 January and is the first race of the 2012 UCI World Tour. The previous edition of the race was won by Garmin-Cervélo's Cameron Meyer ahead of HTC-Highroad's Matthew Goss.[1]
As the Tour Down Under is a UCI World Tour event, all 18 UCI ProTeams were invited automatically and obligated to send a squad. Together with a selection of Australian riders forming the UniSA-Australia squad, this formed the event's 19-team peloton.
