The 2011 FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship for Women is the qualifying tournament for FIBA Asia at the Under-17 World Championship for Women 2012. The tournament was supposed to be held in Urumqi, China from October 5 to October 12, but was moved to another venue due to unavoidable and unforeseen circumstances. The games were moved to Jinan, China from December 4 to December 11.[1]

Defending champions and hosts China lead the pack of six teams that will play in the Elite Level I of the competition. Japan, who lost to China in the gold medal game of the 2009 FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship for Women in Pune, Chinese Taipei, Korea, India and Philippines are the other teams in Level I.
Level II features Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau.[2]
