The 2006 CONMEBOL Beach Soccer championship also known as the 2006 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup qualifiers for (CONMEBOL) was the first beach soccer championship for South America, held in May, in Macaé, Brazil. Hosts Brazil won the championship, with Uruguay finishing second. Argentina won the third place ply-off to claim third. The three nations moved on to play in the 2006 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from November 2 - November 12.[1]
