The 1987 Grambling State Tigers football team represented the Grambling State University in the SWAC during the 1987 college football season. The Tigers offense scored 278 points while the defense allowed 208 points.^[1] The Tigers failed to get their first winning season since 1986.^[2]

Regular season

Yankee Stadium hosted its final Whitney M. Young Urban League Classic during the 1987 season, also the last time a football game was played there. Grambling lost to Central State University of Ohio, 37-21.^[3]
In the Bayou Classic, Southern University beat Grambling for the fourth time in the history of the series.^[4]

The final score was 27-21.
