1984 West African Nations Cup

The 1984 West African Nations Cup, was held in Burkina Faso between 17 November and 28 November 1984. The West African Nations Cup was an annual football competition between national teams in West Africa, The Supreme Council for Sports in Africa (SCSA) the sport's governing body in Africa, has been functioning as a specialised agency of the Organization of African Unity (OAU). It was the Third time that the Zone III finals was held in West Africa.

The Supreme Council for Sports in Africa (SCSA) was established in July 1965 in Brazzaville as the Comite Permanent du Sport Africain (CPSA). Its present title was adopted in Bamako on 14 December 1966. Since 3 July 1977, the SCSA has been functioning as a specialised agency of the Organization of African Unity. The SCSA has its headquarters in Yaoundé, Cameroon.[1]

Burkina Faso hosted the event.
