The 1978 UEFA Super Cup was a football match played over two legs between Liverpool of England and Anderlecht of Belgium. Anderlecht won the tie 4–3 on aggregate, winning the first leg 3–1, and losing the second leg 2–1. Jimmy Case scored Liverpool's only goal in the first leg, with David Fairclough and Emlyn Hughes scoring their two goals in the second leg.
