The 1941 edition to the Sugar Bowl featured the fourth ranked Tennessee Volunteers and the fifth ranked Boston College Eagles, both with records of 10–0.

Tennessee took a 7–0 lead on a four-yard touchdown run by Thompson in the first quarter. After a scoreless second quarter, Boston College scored on a 13-yard touchdown run from Connally. Tennessee answered with a two-yard touchdown run from Warren giving Tennessee a 13–7 lead. Boston College scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown from Mike Holovak tying the game at 13. In the fourth quarter, Boston College's Charlie O'Rourke scored on a 24-yard touchdown run giving the Eagles a 19–13 win.
