100 Women in Hedge Funds

100 Women in Hedge Funds is an industry association for women who work in the hedge fund industry. Actual membership comprises more than 10,000 women active on 3 continents. The organization has been a vanguard in working for a world in which women get an equal opportunity in the highly competitive world of Hedge Funds.[1]

The founders of the organization include Carol Kim, Dana Hall and Sarah Dyer. Other notable people associated with the organization include: Jacki Zehner, Jane Buchan and Amanda Pullinger who is the Executive Director.

Annual Gala Dinner

Every year, 100 Women in Hedge Funds holds a Gala Dinner at which they honour a woman who has played a leading role in the Hedge Fund industry, as well as someone who has made a difference in the world of philanthropy.

Past industry leadership awards have gone to: Geraldine Sundstrom[2] (London, 2010), Dorothy Weaver[3](New York, 2010), and Sonia Gardner[4] (London, 2008). Past effecting change awards have gone to: T. Boone Pickens (2010), Joel Klein (2009), Ken Langone (2008), Julian Robertson (2007) and Carl Icahn (2006)

In 2010, Prince William of Wales became the Patron of 100 Women in Hedge Funds.[5] On October 16, 2011, Prince William attended a Charity Gala at St. James's Palace to raise money for the Child Bereavement Charity.[6][7]

In 2011, the organization raised $2 million for the Clinton Foundation, which was presented to Bill Clinton in person at the New York Gala Dinner.[8]
