Šentjanž is a village in the Sevnica municipality in east central Slovenia. The area is part of the historical region of Lower Carniola. The municipality is now included in the Lower Sava statistical region.[2]

The local parish church from which the settlement gets its name is dedicated to John the Baptist (Slovene: Sveti Janez Krstnik or Šentjanž for short) and belongs to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Novo Mesto. It is first mentioned in written documents dating to 1444, but was totally rebuilt in around 1900.[3]
