Biography

Đorđe Ðogani was born as Hamit Ðogaj (Хамит Ђогај, Albanian: Hamit Gjogaj) on 1 July 1960 in Belgrade, Serbia, then Yugoslavia. He was raised in Mirijevo (a neighbourhood of Belgrade) together with four brothers and four sisters. An active sportsman in his youth, Ðole was member of AK Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Track & Field Club) from 1976 to 1985, even representing SFR Yugoslavia internationally. Later he changed his name to Đorđe, according to his nickname derived from his surname, "Đole". At the same time, he also changed his last name from Ðogaj to Ðogani.

He is an ethnic Ashkali[a] and has problems speaking standard Serbian correctly, as opposed to his younger brothers and sisters. His misuse of noun cases mixed with Belgrade slang became somewhat of his trademark. His younger brother Gagi and nephew Baki also had successful careers in dance music, leading the dance-oriented bands, like Funky G and B3

Vesna Trivić - Đogani was born in Voždovac, Belgrade, Serbia, then Yugoslavia. Ðole and Vesna have a son, Adriano, born 2 July 2006.

The original female of the duo was Slađana "Slađa" Delibašić, who had previously been married to Miroslav Agarski.
