Alcobendas is a city located in the Community of Madrid, central Spain. It is located roughly 13 km north of Madrid and 7 km from the Barajas International Airport. It includes a central urban zone, a recently built district known as Valdelasfuentes, La Moraleja and El Soto de la Moraleja residential zones, the Valdelatas natural reserve and a light industrial zone. A huge high-tech firm area known as Valdelacasa is being built. Home for the Cosmocaixa sciences museum and the Diversia entertainment center, it is also the location of a basketball museum organized by Pedro Ferrándiz Foundation which is a home to FIBA Hall of Fame.
Alcobendas in is the B1 zone for Madrid's Transports.
Both Alcobendas and its neighbour city, San Sebastián de los Reyes are communicated with Madrid via buses operated by the 'Interbús' bus company. There are currently eight bus lines that go to and from different districts of Alcobendas to Plaza de Castilla (the bus line central hub for the northern area of Madrid). Alcobendas also has eight bus lines that communicate the different zones of Alcobendas between themselves.
Metro (Underground):
Alcobendas presently has four Metro stations (La Granja, La Moraleja, Marqués de la Valdavia and Manuel de Falla) which all belong to the line 10 of the Madrid Metro network. These stations were recently opened by Esperanza Aguirre (President of the Community of Madrid).

Alcobendas also has two sub-urban railway stations (one shared with San Sebastián de los Reyes):
Valdelasfuentes and
Alcobendas-San Sebastián de los Reyes.
Both form part of the C-4a Cercanías line and can get to Sol and Atocha in half an hour.
Private Transport
Alobendas is easily reached by car as well. There are a number of motorways going round Alcobendas and through it. Airport access is perfect with the recently built motorway known as M-12 which connects the Canillejas district of Madrid with the Barajas International Airport and further on finishing in the Arroyo de la Vega area of Alcobendas

The difficulty of parking in Alcobendas varies depending on which district you are parking in. In the Casco district it is challenging to find a parking space. But say for example in the newer zones there is ample space to park your vehicle.
