This is a list of London Underground stations. It includes all stations currently open on the London Underground and Docklands Light Railway. The London Underground and Docklands Light Railway networks are operated by Transport for London (TfL) and are located primarily within the Greater London area and north of the River Thames. The majority of the stations are located in the City of London or one of twenty-seven London boroughs.^[A] Stations at the north-eastern end of the Central line are located in the Epping Forest district of Essex and at the north-western end of the Metropolitan line are located in the Three Rivers and Watford districts of Hertfordshire and the Chiltern district of Buckinghamshire.

Stations

The following table lists the name of each station, the London Underground or Docklands Light Railway lines serving the station, the local authority and London Travelcard zone,^[B] in which it is located and the year in which the station was opened. Details of previous names held by the stations and passenger usage statistics are also provided.

Note that there are three instances where two separate stations share the same name: Edgware Road, Hammersmith and Canary Wharf. Note also, that on the Tube map Paddington is shown as two separate stations, although it is in fact one station with access to differing tube lines either side of the mainline platforms.

Dollis Hill on the Jubilee line opened in 1909 as part of the Metropolitan line and was a Bakerloo line station between 1939 and 1979.

Kew Gardens station was first opened by the London & Southwestern Railway in 1869.

Mile End is the only below-ground station to offer a cross-platform interchange between deep tube and subsurface lines.

South Kensington was originally a joint Metropolitan Railway and Metropolitan District Railway station.

Totteridge and Whetstone in zone 4 still looks more like the rural country station it once was than a station on a major urban network.

Uxbridge is served by the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines.

Notes

A. ^{^} Five London boroughs (Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, Kingston and Sutton) have never been served by the system. The London Borough of Lewisham previously had two Underground stations on the East London Line but these are currently closed and will transfer to the London Overground network when they reopen in 2010. The London Borough of Hackney has one station located on its western border.

B. ^{^} The London Underground uses a system of nine concentric zones for the calculation of fares between stations. Fares between any station in one zone and any station in another are the same, irrespective of the start and end points of the journey or the route used.

C. ^{^} Where more than one line serves a station, lines are listed in the order of opening. In some cases stations were first served by one underground line but later transferred to another:

a First served by Metropolitan line - Circle line services separately identified in 1949.^[1][2]

b First served by Metropolitan line - Circle line services separately identified in 1949, Hammersmith & City line services separately identified in 1990.^[1][2][3]

c First served by Metropolitan line - District line service added in stages, Circle line services separately identified in 1949.^[1][2][4]

d First served by Metropolitan line - Hammersmith & City line services separately identified in 1990.^[1][3]

e First served by Metropolitan line - service transferred to Bakerloo line in 1939 and then to the Jubilee line in 1979.^[1][5][6]

f First served by Metropolitan line - Bakerloo line service added in 1939 which was transferred to the Jubilee line in 1979.^[1][5][6]

g First served by Bakerloo line - service transferred to Jubilee line in 1979.^[5][6]

h First served by District line - service transferred to Piccadilly line in 1933.^[4][7]

i First served by District line - Circle line services separately identified in 1949.^[2][4]

j First served by District line - Metropolitan line service added in stages which was transferred to Hammersmith & City line in 1990.^[1][3][4]

k First served by Metropolitan line - District line service added in 1910 which was transferred to Piccadilly line in 1933.^[1][4][7]

l First served by District line - service transferred to Piccadilly line in 1964.^[4][7]

D. ^{^} Where a station has multiple opening dates the following symbols are used:

E. ^{^} All Usage statistics are in millions per year. Stations with names beginning A or B have 2006 data; other stations have 2005 data.^[15]

F. ^{^} Barkingside, Chigwell, Fairlop, Grange Hill, Hainault and Roding Valley stations were moved from Zone 5 to Zone 4 on 2 January 2007.^[16]

G. ^{^} Zones 7-9 replaced zones A-D on 2 January 2008.^[17]

H. ^{^} The East London Line is closed for reconstruction works in preparation for its transfer to the London Overground service in 2010.^[18]
