[edit] About Me
Hello!
I am Zylstra555, also known as just Zylstra (or Zylstra5)
I am skilled with computers (Fixing, repairing, upgrading), Windows, the Mac OS Classic (for sure versions 8&9), DOS, etc... oh and some Linux OS as well (the KDE, Ubuntu, SLAX, Vector)
I am not a programmer, or, not really. I design web pages, and sometimes in my spare time, I make some small Qbasic programs. (All I need is a compiler now!). If you consider HTML a programming language, then I guess I am a programmer. I know the basics of HTML. I use Dreamweaver though, its so much easier.
Spare time? No way!
All I do in my spare time is ... computing. My recent project (Feb 07) is getting my WiFi network to work on Ubuntu. (Its not going so well...).
Forums, and other member websites:
My favorite website is www.computerhope.com ( computerhope ) Its the best place to get computer help (I just dont recommend you use their email service until issues are resolved)
I used to use the forums of www.thesims2.com , but no longer use it.
WikiPedia, obviously, since you are reading this
Hmm... thats about it. (Excluding my own forum)
Computer I own:
(Slowest to fastest) IBM 4MHz around 2MB RAM, and no HDD (Late 80's to early 90's)
LeadingEdge Laptop 16MHz unknown RAM, and non-functioning HDD (1993)
Gateway SOLO Series laptop (no model) 90MHz 16MB RAM 3GB HDD (1996)
Unknown brand unknown RAM 100MHz computer with 266MB HDD
Fujitsu laptop Unknown RAM and HDD
Compaq 1215 130MHz 20MB RAM (I think) under 1GB HDD (1997)
Apple iMac (terrible machine!) 266MHz 128MB RAM 5GB HDD
Hewlett Packard 266MHz unknown RAM unknown HDD
Custom Computer (with ASUS case) 366MHz 306MB RAM 20GB HDD (Unknown year)
Gateway 700MHz 7GB HDD
1 unused not-worth-mentioning no-processor not-funtioning Gateway
Dell Inspiron 1000 with an old 2GB HDD inside it running Windows XP with Virtual Memory dissabled and 512MB RAM (2.somthing GHz)
Dell Inspiron E1505 CoreDuo 1.73GHz with 1GB RAM, Windows Vista, and 120GB HDD space
You can probably guess, I dont use half the computers I own. I keep them for a) Spare parts b)Bragging privileges c)The occasional expirement
So thats 5 laptops, 6 computers (Not counting the non-functional Gateway) with a total of 11 (Still not counting the Gateway)
Sounds about right.
