[edit] To all wikipedians...
You should probably try the article talk pages of the countries you reference. Creating a new encyclopedia article is not a way to reach other editors. Thanks! Iknowyourider (t c) 21:44, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- I do not think I will get a quick enough responce. How do I know what South African and Zimbabwen wikipedians are online now? --Zwerrifringweraand 21:46, 20 June 2007 (UTC) comment relocated from User talk:Iknowyourider diff

- I don't think that's possible. Sorry. Iknowyourider (t c) 21:51, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- You might also want to join or visit Wikipedia:WikiProject Zimbabwe and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa. -- Gogo Dodo 21:52, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

- Re your message: You're welcome. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.
-
- And to confirm the question/answer above about where somebody is located... that isn't possible. With Wikipedia, you're not really online in the sense that everybody editing is logged in at once like a chat room. Additionally, geographic location is something that is self-reported and there is no way to determine where a particular person is editing from. -- Gogo Dodo 22:00, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] You edits
Hi Gregory and welcome to Wikipedia. I saw your post at the Help Desk. I looked over your edits. Generally, they are OK in that you removed material that was not referenced or otherwise was biased. There is no reason to be hostile in your edit summary since material is deleted and added all the time to Wikipedia and the change usually is accepted. Please review Help:Edit summary. Also, you removed one sentence that was footnoted. Usually, if a sentence is footnoted, removing it first requires discussion on the article page. And you may want to review Wikipedia:Three-revert rule. Relatively, there probably are not many South African and Zimbabwen Wikipedians, so your contributions are most welcomed. You may want to check out Wikipedians in Zimbabwe and Wikipedians in South Africa. You can tell if they recently were posting on Wikipedia by going to their user page and clicking on the "User contributions" link in the toolbox to the left. That will tell you when they last posted on Wikipedia. You might be interested in Portal:Zimbabwe, Portal:South Africa and White Zimbabweans (including Whites in Zimbabwe) as well. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask me. -- Jreferee (Talk) 01:01, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Goodshoesmordenfull.JPG
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Goodshoesmordenfull.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 09:07, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Goodshoesmordenfull.JPG
Thank you for uploading Image:Goodshoesmordenfull.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Yamla 13:22, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Goodshoesmordenfull.JPG
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Goodshoesmordenfull.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 13:22, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Goodshoesmordenfull.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Goodshoesmordenfull.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 13:22, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Goodshoesmorden1.JPG)
Thanks for uploading Image:Goodshoesmorden1.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 01:49, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please unblock me
Dear Admin, I do not understand the reason of this block. Look at my edits. I have contributed alot to wikipedia and I need to be unblocked. Thank You. (I believe this is a shared I.P? I am not to sure.) --Zwerrifringweraand 19:58, 8 July 2007 (UTC)--Zwerrifringweraand 17:54, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- Please explain why this is your third unblock request in three days. —Kurykh 21:51, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

- This is a shared I.P in Zimbabwe in an affluent white (partly afrikaans) suburb of Harare, at an internet cafe. That is why I proberly keep getting blocked. Also, my edits are good and I have created some very decent articles, I assure you son, I am not a vandal and I oppose vandalism 100%. --Zwerrifringweraand 05:10, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

- Ok, based on that, I will not be unblocking. Only you know for sure if you are Molag Bal or an abusive sockpuppeteer. If you are, you aren't welcome. If you aren't, I'm sorry if this seems unjust, but we've done our best to distinguish the two. If you want to edit in good faith, you can create a new account, it just won't get credit for the contributions this account made. Some people have a problem with that and would rather see their name "cleared," but that really can't happen after this kind of checkuser finding, so forget about that possibility. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Allinmyhead GoodShoes.jpg}
Thank you for uploading Image:Allinmyhead GoodShoes.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:
-
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page.
