Zvjezdan Misimović (born June 5, 1982 in Munich, West Germany) is a Bosnian football player. Misimović was the captain of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. His parents are Bosnian Serbs from Jablanica near Bosanska Gradiška.

Misimović played for FC Bayern Munich in the past, but joined VfL Bochum at the start of the 2004–2005 season and then moved on to 1. FC Nuremberg in July 2008. The Bosnian midfielder is widely regarded as one of the best creative midfielders in the Bundesliga.

Misimovic signed a 4 year contract till 2012 at Vfl Wolfsburg and they paid 3.9 million euros for the bosnian international.

On April 8, 2008, Misimović announced his retirement from the national team, stating he wanted to concentrate on his club career, but four days later the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that Misimović had decided to continue his international career for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
