Zvee Scooler

Zvee Scooler was an actor and radio commentator who was born in the town of Kamianets-Podilskyi, Ukraine on December 1, 1899. He died in New York City on March 25, 1985. He is best known for his roles in Fiddler on the Roof, playing the innkeeper in the Broadway play and the rabbi in the film version.[1]

He was known as the "Grammeister" on WEVD, a Yiddish radio station. Every Sunday, Zvee Scooler presented a 10 minute weekly show, Forward Hour, which was news and commentary in rhyme.[2][3]
