Zsuzsa Budavari-Novak

Zsuzsa Budavari-Novak (1978-) in Kecskemét) is a Hungarian conductor and current leader of the Maribor Academic Choir in Slovenia.

Following primary and secondary school, she studied music teaching and conducting at the University of Music in Pecs. During this time she gained consierable experience as a teacher at various music schools and inially became the conductor of the female choir Cantikum Cydrel which not only performed many concerts in Pecs but toured all over Hungary [1].

Following graduation she moved to Slovenia, firstly working with the Vokalischoir and then with newborn male octet Osmica.

Since 2002 she has been the conductor of the Maribor Academic Choir. The Maribor Academic Choir has toured to a number of European countries such as the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, France and Austria and has won prestigious prizes including the gold medal at competitions in Cork, Ireland (1986), in Pardubice, Czech Republic (1995) and won awards at the University Choir Festival in Bologna and at the International Choir Competition in Jersey in 2004 [2].
