[edit] Needs Re-Writing
The way you throw around dance terms makes the concept of the article difficult to understand. First you say "Lambada-Zouk", then "Zouk-Lambada", then Lambazouk /Spanish Lambazouk / Brazilian Zouk / Lambada danced to Zouk ??!!??!! . . . . Perhaps you understand what this is all about, but no reader outside of your community will be able to grasp what you are trying to communicate. I suggest eliminating the hyphenations ( Z-L ).
Keep it simple: 1) There is an older dance called Lambada. 2) There is a (somewhat) newer dance called Zouk. 3) Then there are new regional substyles called Lambazouk, Soulzouk, Rio-Style Zouk, etc.. This way it is much easier to digest. But the way you have it described above is confusing to the average person. The disorganized naming convention does not make your dance community look professional.

- I guess this is directed to me, but keep in mind that wikipedia is edited by multiple persons. I added those different terms, because they should be explained. Different dance teachers sell their dance style with different names, and sometimes these styles actually are quite different. These differences should be explained, so that people can expand their view on the zouk-lambada community. If things are complex they cannot be explained simply. This an encyclopedia, for a simple explanation, people will go to their local dance teacher or dance company website. I suggest you just add your desired changes to the zouk-lambada article and wait for the people to review it. Caco de vidro —Preceding comment was added at 11:30, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Brazilian zouk
As of today Zouk is becoming well known and apart from the original styles Lambada (faster) and Zouk (latter development) some other styles like Soulzouk and Zouk-Revolution are distinguished. (how are they distinguished, sure the people that claim this is a style have added elements of other dance styles, but that shouldn't necessarily mean that there are now 2000 styles of the same thing, and yes people call it something different to their own taste, but how can you say it's a completely new style of dance. whovere wrote this has neurosis and should seek medical help, and assistance for their wounded egos!
Actually this is not true, Zouk Lambada, Lambazouk, Lambada Zouk / Lambada Francesa etc. are all derivatives of the dance Lambada, some people see it as a separate dance, but it is not so, they are just for some personal variations, you cannot say that they are completely different styles. no way, some of the teachers that are lucky enough to have websites have tried to claim this difference, but indeed they are just different names for the same thing really. sure as with most dance schools each has a certain style they choose to dance. but to claim it is a style of dance is very far reaching and ego induced.
Realisticly, Zouk as a word in the dances name should be included in this more modern style of lambada because, it was a result of the adoption of the music that helped the style develop into what it is today. To say they are different dances in their own right is completely ridiculous. Hey guys and don't forget, the music originally belongs ot the people of the French Caribbean, don't you think you should at least respect them by using the word zouk very carefully in the explanation of this this dance.
the so called 'Zouk Revolution' , whilst i admire the teacher who claims to dance this style, i think the name chosen for this 'style' is quite offensive to the people of the french caribbean, considering they should be the ones to decide whether or not their dance style the real Zouk, should have a revolution into a variation of lambada. (is this person absolutely mad, this is really offensive to the people of the caribbean)
I can see how wikipedia can be used ot supply wrong information about something. Please be careful what you take in on this page, there is clearly a lot of crap that should be taken with a pinch and a handful of salt.
Unfortunately for people or should i say beginners who start learning this dance, they really are at the mercy of their teachers, and promotors pushing information on them, which is not necessarily correct. so if you've just started learning this dance, beware, learn with different people, don't just stick to one teacher, find out as much information as possible, and do your research before
These other "styles" are just names to decorate individuals egos and individuals styles
but most of all enjoy your dancing, and forget the 200 names for the dance, that quite simply is just danced in variations by different individuals.
Enjoy!
[edit] Lambazouk
he he, this is funny, off course people dance differently to different music, thats quite a norml thing, it means they are feeling the music, this is what is known as true dancing, not just steps, but they are not switching their dance styles, they are just doing their best to follow the music as it changes in a song, it makes their dancing more beautiful. it doesn't mean they change their styles of dance.
[edit] Spanish Lambazouk
fuck there is so much crap, actually in Porto Seguro in Bahia, in 1993, at a place called Boca da Barra, (they were using this type of music in Porto Seguro years ago, they were using music of the Gypsy Kings, (which by the way, they are not spanich but french) to dance lambada to, they started experimenting with other rumba styled music because the timing allowed for it to be danced to, however because the music happened to be faster, these songs were danced faster, but lambazouk is not a completely different style, the name may be attractive for marketing purposes, and i'm sure that they've contributed to the dances development, it is just their interpretation of the same dance basically.
[edit] Soulzouk
This fusion of techniques is inspiring, but it is not a separate style nor was it invented by any particular person, to say this is a bit ego inspired, this is something that has been happening on a global scale, since the music zouk developed into the zouk rnb styles, there have been influences which offer more modern interpretations of the same dance yet again.
As music eveloves so does dance in essence! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Caco de vidro (talk • contribs) 11:59, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Other Zouk-Lambada dancing styles
Oh please, these are just individual styles not different genres of the dance, and the teachers dancing is distinguished, not these so called styles. just how many students dance exactly the same as their teachers? and if so are these dance documented yet as different styles or is this a race to be the first registered style of all these new styles of dance, how come it has not yet been televised that there are now about 30 new dance styles that have developed from one single dance. this remains to be seen, surely if this was the case, people would surely know about it. this is crazy to say the least.
sure there are discrepancies amongst some teachers as to how the dance could be danced, timing even yes what the name of the dance should be, but would n't it be better if we offered a more rounded view of the dance and tried to provide students with as much information as possible so that they would essentially be able to dance with anyone around the world rather than make the student believe that they were learning a completely different dance each time they went to a different dance school to improve their knowledge and dance skills.
It sounds more like ego building than empowering the student with the knowledge to develop themselves to their be able to give their best.
