Zorg ZF-1
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Zorg ZF-1 is a fictional podbased Smartgun in the 1997 movie The Fifth Element, and the Fifth Element video game, based on the movie.
It is manufactured by Zorg Industries and is a major plot motivator for the Mangalore warriors and their quest for honorable revenge. The ZF-1 is featured prominently in a demonstration for the Mangalores by Jean Battiste Zorg as follows: Lightweight, the handle is adjustable for easy carrying, is ambidextrous, it breaks down into four parts undetectable by X-Ray, and is ideal for quick and discrete interventions.
He further describes its firepower abilities as having a titanium recharger, a 3000 round clip with bursts of three to 300, which with the Replay Button (another Zorg invention), the operator can fire one shot and, by pushing the Replay, sends every following shot to the same location. The ZF-1 also contains a rocket launcher, an arrow launcher with exploding or poisonous gas heads, a net launcher, a flamethrower, and the "Ice Cube System" which seems to be a freeze gun which fires a cloud of liquid nitrogen.
There is also a large bright red self-destruct button on the left side of the weapon which one of the Mangalores pushes and blows up the group of warriors and which triggers the whole honorable revenge operation on Fhloston's Paradise.
