The Zords used in the television series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are themed after prehistoric, mythical, and modern animals. They were created by Ninjor, a wise warrior who also created the Power Coins and the Battle Borgs.

[edit] Season 1
[edit] Dinozords
The Dinozords were the very first Zords to be used in Power Rangers history. It is interesting to note that, although they were referred to collectively as Dinozords, only the Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops were actually dinosaurs. The Saber-Toothed Tiger and the Mastodon were mammals that were post-Cretaceous. Pterodactyls were pterosaurs, a separate group of archosaurs from dinosaurs. Together they combined into the Megazord. The Dinozords were used to battle Rita Repulsa's monsters throughout Season 1. After they were upgraded into the Thunderzords, the Rangers no longer used the Dinozords for battle, but every time they summoned the Thunderzords, the Dinozords would appear first, and they would then morph into their Thunderzord counterparts. When the Thunderzords were destroyed, so were the Dinozords, due to them being the base components.
The Dinozords are as followed:
- Tyrannosaurus Dinozord: Piloted by the Red Power Ranger Jason Lee Scott, it hides underground and rises up through a fissure. The only bipedal dinozord, it occasionally fought on its own when the other zords were engaged as Dragonzord in Battle Mode. Independently, its capabilities included a prehensile tail that could swipe at enemies or allow it to gain a height advantage and sweep in. It also had a cannon in its throat that could be fired into the ground and cause damage to an enemy, and a set of cannons on its back, though those were rarely used. When forming Megazord, the Tyrannosaurus accounted for the upper torso and head; its chest opened to accept the Tyrannosaurus' head, which then swung down into a cavity. This revealed the Megazord's head, normally behind that of the Tyrannosaurus.
- Mastodon Dinozord: Piloted by the Black Power Ranger Zack Taylor, it was hidden beneath a glacier of ice. The Mastodon could shoot a cold blast from its trunk which was capable of freezing some enemies. When forming Megazord, the Mastodon accounted for the shoulders, arms and back. In addition, the head could be utilized as a shield to block enemy attacks.
- Triceratops Dinozord: Piloted by the Blue Power Ranger Billy Cranston, it rested in a desert, and rolled into battle on a set of treads rather than feet or legs. It featured a double laser cannon on its tail, and a set of horns that could launch and serve as grappling devices. When forming Megazord, it compacted to form the left leg.
- Saber-Toothed Tiger Dinozord: Piloted by the Yellow Power Ranger Trini Kwan, its hiding place was deep within a jungle, and it showed off its speed and dexterity by leaping a large chasm each time it charged into battle. Its tail could rotate up and fire an energy beam, and it occasionally attacked enemies directly as a biological tiger would. When forming Megazord, the Saber-Toothed Tiger compacted to form the right leg.
- Pterodactyl Dinozord: Piloted by the Pink Power Ranger Kimberly Hart, it slept inside a presumably active volcano, and caused a minor eruption each time it departed. It was the only dinozord capable of flight, and could fire strafing energy beams from its shoulders. When forming Megazord, it folded its wings and head inside its main body and attached to the Tyrannosaurus as the Megazord's chest plate.
To summon the Zords, the Rangers--primarily Jason--would call out, "We need Dinozord power now!"
(NOTE: In the original "Day of the Dumpster" pilot, the Dinozords were referred to as "Dino-Droids".)
The Zords in Power Rangers: Dino Thunder are called Biozords, but are commonly referred to as Dinozords.
[edit] Megazord: Tank Mode
In forming the Megazord, the Dinozords almost always joined into tank mode, even if only temporarily before switching to battle mode. The Tyrannosaurus represented the tank's core, with the Saber-Toothed Tiger and Triceratops attaching to form the left and right treads, respectively. The Mastodon attached to the Tyrannosaurus's back and created a set of forward-facing cannons, while the Pterodactyl clipped onto the Tyrannosaurus's back. Once joined, the Megazord could emit a set of energy blasts from the eyes of the individual zords, as well as the mastodon cannons. For a photo of the completed tank mode, click here.
[edit] Megazord: Battle Mode
This formation almost always followed the tank mode formation, but on rare occasions the Rangers would skip tank mode entirely. This formation was bipedal and moved very much like a human, with a broad range of motion and use of its arms and legs. All five Rangers piloted the Megazord from inside its head. The Megazord was able to switch between battle and tank mode instantly to suit the situation. When desired, the Red Ranger could summon the Power Sword, which lanced through the skies and landed either in the ground or in the Megazord's hand. It was capable of finishing off most enemies.
The Megazord also had armaments it used somewhat less often. The Mastodon's detached head could be attached to the Megazord's left hand to form the Mammoth Shield, which could deflect (or reflect) enemy attacks. It also had a Cranial Laser, which emanated from the top of its head. Also to note, whenever the Megazord transformed from Tank to Battle mode, the Mastodon's head would mysteriously vanish until summoned for use as a shield.
While it owes its existence to the Morphing Grid and Power Coins, the Megazord derived its day-to-day energy from the sun. Rita once intentionally caused a solar eclipse to strip the Megazord of its energy, which forced the Rangers to evacuate and caused the zords to return to their hiding places (even though it appeared they had been swallowed up into a massive pit of molten lava). That automatic self-preservation is part of the zords' defense systems; when in critical danger, they will instantly return to their hiding places to recharge. The Rangers did not know this from the start, but were pleasantly surprised after the first battle with Cyclopsis and Lokar, in which they believed the Zords had simply vanished from existence.
For merchandising products, it was dubbed the Mighty Megazord most likely to differentiate it from later named Megazords.
[edit] Dragonzord
Residing in the depths of a harbor just off Angel Grove's shipping district, the Dragonzord was inextricably linked to the green power coin. When Rita used that power coin to infuse Tommy Oliver with the powers of the Green Ranger, it gave him access to Dragonzord. It was summoned via the Dragon Dagger, an enchanted flute which also controlled the zord's attacks. More often than not, the Green Ranger (or, for a time, the Red Ranger) stayed outside the cockpit and controlled it remotely using the dagger.
The Dragonzord was quite versatile in battle. Its primary attacks included a set of missiles that launched from its fingertips, along with a massive prehensile tail complete with a high-speed drill on its end. The red lights on its chestplate lit up when one of these attacks was imminent.
When Tommy first lost use of his powers, he bestowed what was left on Jason, including the Dragon Dagger and, thus, use of the Dragonzord. Jason could produce the Dragon Dagger even while piloting Megazord and use it to remotely control Dragonzord. Jason relinquished the dagger and powers when Tommy subsequently regained his abilities.
Once the Rangers' Dinozords were used to create the Thunderzords, Tommy was able to continue using Dragonzord in battle. Soon after, however, Tommy lost the Green Ranger powers for good, and Dragonzord returned to an indefinite sleep in the sea. Dragonzord would return a final time when the clone Green Ranger appeared and used it against Tommy and his Tigerzord. Following that battle, Dragonzord slept again in the harbor, and is presumably still there.
Notably, the Dragonzord is quite similar to Godzilla both in appearance and the fact that just like Godzilla, the Dragonzord also rises from the sea.
[edit] Dragonzord: Battle Mode
The Dragonzord could combine with the Mastodon, Triceratops, and Saber-Toothed Tiger Dinozords to create the Dragonzord in Battle Mode. In this formation is effectively an alternate Megazord, with the Dragonzord replacing the Tyrannosaurus as the torso and head. Its detached tail straightened and combined with its lighted chestplate to form the Power Staff, which was used primarily as a hand weapon, but the drill could be charged and used as a finishing attack. It was apparently stronger than the Megazord, though also slower.
[edit] Mega-Dragonzord
The Dragonzord had the ability to combine with the entire original Megazord to form the Mega-Dragonzord. In this formation, the Dragonzord turns into armor that attaches to the top of the Megazord, turning its finger cannons into shoulder cannons. The Mega-Dragonzord was very powerful, physically stronger than even the Dragonzord in Battle Mode, but also significantly slower because its composition made it top heavy. Its primary attack consisted of a three-pronged energy attack generated by the Dragonzord symbols on the arms and the Megazord's chestplate, which was generally powerful enough to finish most enemies.
[edit] Titanus
When Tommy and Jason went on a quest for special weapons to destroy Rita's new Super Putties, they encountered Titanus, a white-and-black brachiosaurus Zord. Titanus guarded the special weapons, but Zordon took the opportunity to teach Tommy and Jason a lesson about teamwork, and he informed the Rangers that Titanus was a friend once they resolved their differences and obtained the weapons together. Titanus's primary function was to serve as the final piece of the Ultrazord. Individually, it carried a set of cannons as its tail and could fire powerful blasts from its mouth. The Rangers did not utilize Titanus throughout the period in which they had the Thunderzords, but called upon him again to combine with the Ninja and Shogun Megazords to form new Ultrazords.
[edit] Ultrazord
In times of peril, all six Zords (as the Mega-Dragonzord), along with Titanus, could come together to form Ultrazord, the most powerful combination possible. The Ultrazord attacked with a devastating array of projectile weapons, almost always destroying whatever enemy it faced. There were two notable exceptions, however. The first was against Lokar, who was attacked by Ultrazord but retreated without being destroyed. Later, against Cyclopsis, the Rangers believed they had destroyed it with Ultrazord the first time they met, but failed. They later discovered that they needed to change zord formations frequently in order to confuse Cyclopsis and catch it off guard. At the end of their second battle, the Rangers formed Ultrazord again, and this time obliterated Cyclopsis along with Lokar.
[edit] Season 2
[edit] Thunderzords
When Lord Zedd came to the solar system and deposed Rita, his first monster, Pirantishead, succeeded in freezing four of the Dinozords and taking control of the Tyrannosaurus. To regain the Rangers' Zords, Alpha 5 made a refraction of energy that transformed the Dinozords into the Thunderzords, much more powerful than their predecessors. Together they could form the Thunder Megazord. The Thunderzords were used to battle the forces of Lord Zedd with their massive power throughout Season 2. When the Rangers used the Thunder Megazord to battle Rito Revolto and his band of monsters who were attacking Angel Grove, they were easily overpowered. Eventually the Morphing Grid overloaded and the Thunder Megazord was destroyed in a series of massive explosions. It should be noted that the Zords didn't show cockpits this season at all, except for the White Ranger (because the KibaRanger footage was used from Dairanger) and the Red Ranger in "Rangers Back In Time", which was basically a reuse of the Thunder Megazord cockpit shot with the majority of the cockpit cropped out.
The Thunderzords are as followed:
- Red Dragon Thunderzord: Initially piloted by the Red Power Ranger Jason Lee Scott and later Rocky DeSantos, this Zord is shaped like a Chinese dragon and is one of 2 Thunderzords capable of flight. The Red Dragon Thunderzord could transform into a humanoid form that wielded a staff as a weapon. Similar to the Tyrannosaurus Dinozord, the Red Dragon Thunderzord was capable of fighting and defeating a monster on its own. Its wrists were capable of spinning at high speeds, allowing it to use its staff like helicopter blades. It was also able to ride the White Tigerzord while it was in tiger-mode.
- Lion Thunderzord: Initially piloted by the Black Power Ranger Zack Taylor and later Adam Park, The Lion Thunderzord is seemingly useless on its own, having no attack functions. However, in DaiRanger, the Lion Thunderzord could create illusions. This is the only zord of the mighty Morphin' Power Rangers not to have any personal weaponry of its own at all; its only function is to provide armor for the Red Dragon's upper body during Thunder Megazord formation. It is modelled after an Imperial guardian lion, the type that is found in most Chinese temples, museums, government offices, etc.
- Unicorn Thunderzord: Piloted by the Blue Power Ranger Billy Cranston, it has a basic block shape side from its head, and is capable of launching boulders at monsters. It is similar in design to the Griffin Thunderzord. This Zord was originally a Chinese version of Pegasus in Dairanger.
- Griffin Thunderzord: Initially piloted by the Yellow Power Ranger Trini Kwan and later Aisha Campbell, it has a basic block shape side from its head, and is capable of firing flaming rings or electric bolts at monsters. It is similar in design to the Unicorn Thunderzord. This Zord was originally a Qilin, a creature that may have been based on a giraffe, in Dairanger. The name change is due to the fact that most Westerners would not be familiar with the Qilin creature.
- Fire Bird Thunderzord: Piloted by the Pink Power Ranger Kimberly Hart, it appears as a large firebird, and is capable of creating an energy tornado and sending it towards monsters. It is the second of 2 Thunderzords capable of flight, the first one being the Red Dragon.
[edit] Thunderzord Assault Team
The Lion, Fire Bird, Unicorn, and Griffin Thunderzords could combined to form the Thunderzord Assault Team, with the Red Dragon (in humanoid form) riding the other four combined as an airborne chariot. Unlike the Dinozords, the Thunderzords could not easily switch between this and Megazord formations.
[edit] Thunder Megazord
In forming the Thunder Megazord, the Red Dragon (in humanoid form) formed the internal structure and wore the other Zords like body armor, (similar to the formation of the original Megazord) making it look like a samurai. The Lion formed the main arms (gloves and shoulder pads), chestplate, and helmet. The Griffin and Unicorn formed the main legs. And the Fire Bird wrapped itself around the waist forming skirt-like lower torso armor. The Thunder Megazord was modeled after Gosei Sentai Dairanger's Dairenou. Unlike the original Megazord, the power-crystals weren't needed to transform the Thunderzords. While piloting the Thunder Megazord, the Rangers would stand in the cockpit located within the green window on the chest.
The Thunder Megazord's main weapon was the Thunder Saber, which hung in a sheath on its hip while not in use. Like the original Megazord's Power Sword, it also delivered an energy slash as a finisher. It also had a speared polearm which combined the firebird's tail with the Red Dragon's staff, although it was cut out from the Power Ranger episodes.
- This is one of only 2 megazords to have its main weapon used against it. Trumpet Top used the Thunder Saber to inflict massive damage on the Thunder Megazord (The other was the Mega Winger from Power Rangers in Space; Psycho Pink used the Wing Blaster against it). The Thunder Megazord is also the first Megazord and one of four in the entire series to have an American-made cockpit, the only other three being its successors, the Ninja Megazord and Shogun Megazord and the cockpit of the Titanium Ranger's Max Solarzord in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue.
[edit] Tigerzord
When Tommy's Green Ranger powers finally failed, Zordon and Alpha 5 were able to create new White Ranger powers for him, making him the leader of the team. His Zord, the Tigerzord, was controlled by his talking sword, Saba. Like the Red Dragon Thunderzord, the Tigerzord could also change into a humanoid form, in which it wielded a curved saber, formed from the Tiger Mode's tail. In its warrior form, the Tigerzord could fire flame orbs from its chest. It was destroyed along with the Thunder Megazord by Rito Revolto and his band of monsters.
[edit] Mega-Tigerzord
The Tigerzord could combine with the Firebird, Griffin, Lion and Unicorn Thunderzords to form the Mega-Tigerzord, similar to its predecessor the Dragonzord being able to combine to form the Dragonzord in Battle Mode (unlikne the Dragonzord, which used only three of the Dinozords, the Tigerzord could use four of the Thunderzords). The Mega-Tigerzord would often fight alongside the Red Dragon Thunderzord in humanoid form. It had a claw on its right wrist, which was formed by the Firebird. It would shoot out, energized by a fireball from the Tigerzord, to finish off monsters. The Lion formed the Mega-Tigerzord's shoulder pads and back, the Firebird its claw, the Tigerzord its head, arms, torso, and upper legs, and the Unicorn and Griffin each one of its lower legs. Despite only defeating three monsters, the Mega-Tigerzord was used four times. Somewhat ironic since it's proven to be more powerful then the Thunder Megazord.
[edit] Tor the Shuttlezord
Zordon presented the Rangers with the turtle-shaped Tor the Shuttlezord to help them on their journey to get the Sword of Light. Tor can withstand big blasts, and even Serpentera couldn't destroy it with its sheer weight. Like Titanus and Dragonzord, Tor is likely still dormant somewhere on Earth in the Power Rangers' universe as its destruction was never shown on screen.
[edit] Tor the Shuttlezord in Warrior Mode
The Red Dragon Thunderzord can ride inside Tor's central cavity while Tor is in Warrior Mode in order to use the powerful leg cannons. Unfortunately, both of Tor's modes contained very little functionality.
[edit] Thunder Ultrazord
Tor can combine with the Thunderzord Assault Team (on top of which is the Red Dragon Thunderzord) and the Tigerzord to form the Thunder Ultrazord. Instead of firing weapons to finish off monsters, it flies above the monster and literally lands right on top of it, squashing the monster flat (however, in the episode "Goldar's Vice Versa", it was shown to use its cannons against Goldar and Scorpina).
[edit] Season 3
[edit] Ninjazords
When the Thunderzords were destroyed by Rito Revolto in the third season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the Power Rangers were given the Ninjazords by the sage, Ninjor. They were all based on living animals. Unlike most of the Thunderzords, the Ninjazords were very useful outside of Megazord form as well. The Ninjazords were used through the first half of Season 3 to battle Rita ans Zedd's monsters, though after the Ranger acquired the Shougunzords, they used them more often due to their greater power. The Ninjazords were never destroyed, however when Rita and Zedd destroyed the Power Rangers' Ninja Coins, they were ultimitley rendered useless (since the Ninajzords draw their powers from the coins).
The Ninjazords are the first Zords featuring American-made cockpits for each Zord (the said footage of the Red Ranger's "cockpit" of the Red Dragon Thunderzord doesn't count since it was merely edited footage of the Thunder Megazord cockpit). Excpet for the Pink Ranger's, these cockpits were reused for the Shogunzords, as there was no Pink Shogunzord and instead had to co-control the White Shogunzord with Tommy.
The Ninjazords are as followed:
- Ape Ninjazord: Piloted by the Red Ninja Ranger Rocky DeSantos, it was similar to the Red Dragon Thunderzord in Warrior Mode, the Ape was human shaped and the fighter of the group, armed with twin ninja-to.
- Frog Ninjazord: Piloted by the Black Ninja Ranger Adam Park, it could breath fire and release several smaller Frog Zords, which would latch on to their target and produce an electric shock. In the movie, it can use its tongue to latch onto an enemy and electrocute it.
- Wolf Ninjazord: Piloted by the Blue Ninja Ranger Billy Cranston, it could use its tail like a sword and also shoot powerful eye blasts.
- Bear Ninjazord: Piloted by the Yellow Ninja Ranger Aisha Campbell, it could use an earthquake stomp attack and also shoot powerful eye blasts.
- Crane Ninjazord: Initially piloted by the Pink Ninja Ranger Kimberly Hart and later Katherine Hillard, it could fire lasers from its wings.
[edit] Falconzord
The Falconzord was Tommy's Ninjazord given to him by Ninjor at the Temple of Power. The Falconzord can shoot powerful beams from its mouth. It could also shoot missiles from its eight wingtip cannons. The Falconzord could latch on to the Ninja Megazord, giving it the ability of flight. With the combined energies of the Falcon, Ape, and Wolf, the Ninja MegaFalconzord could do a Double Punch Divebomb. When Kat stole the Pink Power Coin while on an evil spell, she used it to steal the Falconzord. This made the remaining Ninjazords inoperable. Luckily, the rangers adopted Shogunzords. Later in the show, when Master Vile schemed to steal the Zeo Crystal, Tommy and Kat stopped him. Tommy retrieved the Zeo Crystal, while Kat pretended that she wanted to be evil. Tommy used the Zeo Crystal to save Kat and the Falconzord. Master Vile sent the zords to his home region of the M51 Galaxy, where the corrosive atmosphere covered the Falconzord, Ninja and Shogun Megazords with rust. The rangers went to the deserted planet where the zords were. By this point, Master Vile had moved the Zeo Crystal from the Falconzord to the Shogun Megazord's engine room. They used their Blade Blasters to break though the corrosion. The Falconzord could also combine with the Shogun Megazord to become the Shogun MegaFalconzord. The Wingtip cannons could destroy the enemy. The Falconzord was somewhat like Titanus and was sentient. The Falconzord was the only Ninjazord not rendered useless at the time Rita and Zedd destroyed the Ninja Coins because it had been modified to work as a separate entity from its power source (aka the Falcon Coin) at the time when the Rangers had the Shogunzords.
[edit] Ninja Megazord
The Ninja Megazord was formed by combining the Ape, Frog, Bear, Wolf, and Crane Ninjazords. The frog formed the thigh and legs, The Bear formed the torso, with the Ape and Wolf forming the arms and the Crane forming the head. Equipped with its Power Gloves, it can throw super energy punches. The Ninja Megazord possessed amazing speed and physical skill. Unfortunately, it was unable to hold anything due to the lack of hands.
The Ninjazords and Ninja Megazord were featured in the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. However, all footage of the Zords was made from scratch via CG-imaging; the artists used the Kakuranger toys for reference. Despite this however, the Ninjazords featured in the movie barely resembled their actual television counterparts, both in Zord and Megazord form. Noticeable differences would be the change in transformation mechanisms, the functional hand from the ape arm, the wolf's head for a left hand, the use of the Shogun Megazord's Fire Saber as a Power Sword, and the transformed crane for a cockpit, instead of two eyes. Also in the movie, the Pink Ranger was in the front of the cockpit, while in the show, the Red Ranger was in front.
The Ninja Megazord is the first Megazord not to have a weapon finisher. In TV series, the Ninja Megazord also is the first not to sport a weapon. The movie Ninja Megazord sported a weapon but also lacked the weapon finisher.
[edit] Ninja Mega-Falconzord
The Falconzord could attach to the back of the Ninja Megazord, forming the Ninja Mega-Falconzord giving it the ability of flight. Its finisher move was the Double-Punch Divebomb.
In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie, it was dubbed the Ninja Falcon Megazord.
[edit] Ninja Ultrazord
When the Ninja Mega-Falconzord rode atop of Titanus, which returned as the carrier Zord this season, they joined to form the massive Ninja Ultrazord. Despite Dragonzord being gone, it stomach part was still used for the Ultrazord. This footage was made with the American toys.
[edit] Shogunzords
Part way through the third season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Lord Zedd kidnapped Ninjor and used him and Kimberly as hostages, demanding that the Power Rangers pilot his new Shogunzords to destroy the Earth. Ninjor was eventually freed, and the Rangers were able to use the Shogunzords for their own purposes (i.e. for good instead of evil). Originally called the "Lost Zords" or "Ancient Zords" they were found by Finster along with Squatt and Baboo. The Lost Zords were based on the technology from the Falconzord. Lord Zedd powered the Zords off the captured Ninjor. Billy was able to gain control of the Zords and power them off the Rangers' Power Coins. The Shogunzords were humanoid robots of different colors (much like the Alien Rangers' Battle Borgs) and with different armor around the head, the heads resembling the animals the Ninjazords were based on. The Shogunzords were considerably more useful than the Ninjazords due to their human form. There was no Pink Shogunzord in the show.
The arc in which the Shogunzords featured prominently was therefore the same arc in which Kimberly Hart was written out of the series, and set during the transition period before Katherine Hillard came to replace her. After this, when the Shogunzords were used, both Katherine and Tommy piloted the white Shogunzord together. Some American and British viewers saw the introduction of a second set of Zords partway through a series as an instance of jumping the shark, though Power Rangers remained popular after this (and the inclusion of a second set of Zords partway through the series would become standard practice throughout the following series). The Shogunzords were usable during the Alien Ranger Saga when Master Vile reversed time, as the Ninjazords were gone, the Shogunzords were used to destroy all the enemies of Season 3's "Alien rangers" mini-series (except for Slotksy, who was destroyed by the Battleborgs). It is assumed the Shogunzords remain dormant.
The Alien Rangers enter the Shogunzords by being absorbed into them via the gold shape on each Shogunzord's chest (Actually using Kakuranger footage for this process). It is unknown how the original six Rangers entered the Zords but most likely the same way. However, the Zyuranger footage of the Rangers (sans White Ranger) jumping into their Zords was reused. However, only the footage depicting the Red, Blue and Black Rangers was shown, even after the Pink Ranger was restored to the team. In the Zords' first appearance, the Yellow Ranger footage was also used, editing the Pink Ranger in the same clip out.
[edit] Shogun Megazord
The combination of the five Shogunzords. Whereas the Ninja Megazord was fast and agile, the Shogun Megazord was strong and powerful, yet lacking in speed. It was heavily armored yet was able to retain its functionality. Its main weapon was the Fire Saber, which destroyed opponents with a fire slash. It was modeled after a katana. According to Super Sentai continuity the Shogun Megazord Fire Saber is capable of shrinking down to human size and the Alien Rangers would use it to destroy monsters with it although the footage and prop for the human size version of the Fire Saber were never used in Power Rangers.
After being banished to the M51 Galaxy by Master Vile, he had transferred the Zeo Crystal to the Shogun Megazord's engine room, where Master Vile established an energy link. The Rangers found the "big toe emergency exit", and used their Blade Blasters to break through the rust and corrosion that had ravaged the zords on the planetoid to get in. Once inside, they focused the energies from their Power Coins in conjunction with the Morphing Grid and broke Master Vile's link to the Zeo Crystal. This in turn also returned control of the Shogun and Ninja Megazords as well as the Falconzord to them.
It is notable that the Alien Rangers were never seen in the cockpits of either the individual Zords or the Megazord itself. For obvious reasons, the original Kakuranger footage of the cockpits were never used, but for unknown reasons, the original cockpits were never used either. In fact, the Zord fights during the Alien Rangers' stint on Earth were some of the most brief battles in the entire series, usually consisting only of the Alien Rangers going to their Zords, immediately forming the Megazord then doing the finisher.
[edit] Shogun Mega-Falconzord
While ostensibly a Ninjazord (see above), Tommy's Falconzord could combine with the five Shogunzords to make the powerful Shogun Mega-Falconzord. This Megazord's main weapon was a series of cannons made up of the Falconzord's wings that slid in between the Megazord's arm-sockets. This Megazord was only able to destroy a monster once however. Hydro Hog was the only monster to be a victim of this Megazord.
[edit] Shogun Ultrazord
Titanus was also able to join with the Shogun Mega-Falconzord when the rangers needed extra help. Much like the original Ultrazord, it simply fired massive amount of blasts to destroy the enemy. (Like the Ninja Ultrazord, the Shogun Ultrazord was created using the American toys. The "Pink" Shogunzord is the most obvious clue.)
