I have a couple concerns about this article: One, there may be a problem due to WP:COI with a developer of the game having written the article. On a related note, the article may have some WP:NPOV problems. Thirdly, Wikipedia is not a crystal ball: that is, we cannot predict things that haven't happened yet, we can only report facts. Finally, there is a sourcing problem: the article links to nothing other than a cite that is related to the subject of the article. Has CiffiO been mentioned in any independent sources, e.g. news media? If not, it may not meet Wikipedia's notability criteria. Sorry to be so critical of a well-written article! But we do need to address these problems. delldot | talk 01:06, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure I've spoken with anyone who would have any desire to write anything about it anywhere else. They're all excited about the game, but of course, they aren't press. They're more game fanatics or members of the development team.. none of whom have their own sites, that I know of, aside from one. I guess that could be a minor issue. Not much word has been spread about the game as of yet, but I plan to do something along those lines in a few months. 'Course, that's in a few months. I did, however, add the tag that it is an unreleased game, which states that the article may contain speculation. I was hoping that would cover that sort of thing. If the article isn't fit for Wikipedia, then I'd understand that. I can just make it again once the game is nearing completion, or even already completed.. though I'm sure someone else would have beaten me to it if that were the case. I could even just be lazy about it and get some other people to make it. I actually think I like that idea more.. laziness always sounds appealing. Zorgon X 04:32, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
- Heh, I know what you mean. I don't really have an opinion one way or the other about whether the article should stay, but the conflict of interest issues tip me toward not keeping it. If no one independent of the game has written about it, it probably doesn't meet WP:NOTE. How about this: we can temporarily move the article onto your userpage or a subpage of it such as User:Zorgon X/CiffiO. Then, if more is published about it, or other info comes to light making it more clear that it should have an article, we can move it back into the mainspace. Another idea would be to bring it up for discussion at articles for deletion and let the rest of the community decide whether to keep or delete (but if it gets deleted before you move it to your user space, you won't have access to the text later). Let me know if you're ok with either of these ideas or if you have others. Peace, delldot talk 05:16, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
- I rather like the idea of adding it as a subpage of my userpage. I haven't created a Wikipedia article before, or really used the system very much, so I hadn't exactly thought of that. I've made really minor contributions here and there, but that is pretty much everything up to this point. It likely would've been a good idea for me to have done a bit more research into Wikipedia before making the article.. though making the article itself proved to involve a lot of searching through Wikipedia's guidelines and the like.
