Purpose of use

This image is used in the Reception section, where the text discusses how critics called Majora's Mask darker than previous Zelda games. This image shows a painful-looking transformation to illustrate the darker nature of the game. This inclusion of the image significantly increases the reader's understanding of this aspect of the game in a way that text cannot.

Replaceable?

As all screenshots of the game would be under copyright, there are no free images that can replace this. The darker nature of the game cannot be adequately expressed through words alone—an example of the imagery is necessary for a proper understanding. Thus, this picture cannot be adequately replaced with text.
