Monommatidae |
Zopheridae is a family of beetles that has grown considerably in recent years as the members of two other families have been included within its circumscription; these former families are the Monommatidae and the Colydiidae, which are now both considered subfamilies within the Zopheridae. There are over 100 genera in the redefined family, and hundreds of species worldwide. There is no vernacular common name for the new family, though some of the constituent subfamilies have their own, including the ironclad beetles, and the cylindrical bark beetles.
