Woman gang raped after football match Kalay Myo Julky 18 (Zoland News Network): A woman was gang raped early this week in the vicinity of Kalay Myo after a football match in the town.

Source said that a woman from Pyinmapinlay, Kalay Myo, Sagaing Division, Burma was gang raped by seven rapists on July 10 about five kilometers from Kalay Myo. The incident occurred around 22:00 hours Burma Standard Time (BST) when she was on her way back from a joy ride with a man from her locality.

The couple from Pyinmapinlay come to Kalay Myo to watch a football match in the town and went for a joy ride on Kalewa Road after the match. The motor cycle they were riding broke down on their way back. They faced the ordeal while pushing their motorbike back, sources said.

Seven men approached the pair. Out numbered and threatened the man was asked to ‘to flee or die.’ The man fled and reported the matter to the local police.

The woman had been gang raped by the seven men by bthe time the man returned to the scene with police personnel. The rapists were hired farm hands in a farmland in Kalay Myo – Kalewa road areas, sources added.

The police has arrested five of the rapists while two are still at large. The arrested rapists were produced before the magistrate.

Kalay Myo is not safe at night, said our source. In the town the Kalay Myo Bogyoke Road is more unsafe.
