ZO2

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ZO2 is a Brooklyn-based rock band signed to New York indie label, Riker Hill Records. Melding the funk and swagger of the the 70's with modern arrangements, harmonies, and lyrics, ZO2's sound has drawn comparisons to artists as diverse as Aerosmith, Rush, and Led Zeppelin to Stone Temple Pilots and The Black Crowes.

Featuring brothers Paulie Z (vocals, guitar) and David Z (vocals, bass guitar) with Joey Cassata (drums, percussion, vocals), the band’s previous achievements are also noteworthy: David as former bassist in the enormously successful Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Joey in the Las Vegas company of the critically-acclaimed Blue Man Group and Paul as a featured vocalist on Howard Stern’s popular song parodies.

[edit] History

ZO2 has released two albums since its inception. Their debut independent release, “Tuesdays & Thursdays” garnered surprising attention early on when ZO2 was invited to open for KISS and Poison on their entire 40-city national VH1 sponsored “Rock the Nation” tour.

The band’s highly anticipated second CD, “Ain’t It Beautiful”, was released in August 2007 on Riker Hill Records to much acclaim. Among other rave reviews, Metal Edge Magazine touted the album as “music that you’ll want to play loud, sing along to and memorize all at the same time.”
