Talk:Znamya (space mirror)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Apparently 5 kilometers is not the minimum spot size for a 20 meter mirror at a range of perhaps 300 kilometers, since the 25 meter mirror was expected to produce a 7 kilometer spot and be several times brighter than the moon. The increased brightness per square kilometer likely resulted from a smoother surface and/or higher reflectivity, but a more favorable angle to the Sun possibly helped a bit. Can anyone clarify? I think this has potential to increase the power output of solar power sites on Earth's surface.Ccpoodle 02:34, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
