Zlatan Olić is Croatian culture journalist, originally rock critic. Born on 9th of March 1951 in Split, he started 1969 writing the weekly news in rock music wall bulletin attending grammar school. Early came in touch with domestic and international pop music scene and worldwide known musical papers like New Musical Express, Rolling Stone, Melody Maker etc. Slobodna Dalmacija from 1970, then from early 70s Nedjeljna Dalmacija and Radio Split as part of Radio televizija Zagreb (RTZ) were his main media till late 80s for the popularization of UK and U.S. rock, then jazz.

Even though Z. Olić never has ambitions to become nationally recognised critic, he deserves appreciation for permanent insertion of lucid, fresh and concise critics and reviews on actual rock concerts through the central daily local radio news programme - equally with those on classic music scene events. As the supporter of Croatian Spring political movement, and adversary to Yugoslav communists regime which led to unitarism of Greater Serbia's provenance, Olić couldn't prosper in career, but he rised professionally. Editors' turned unwilling to engade him permanentlly, so he found another way to be creative.

At the end of the 80s he became a part of the little stuff which started one of the first alternative radio station out of close government control and first on an island in ex-Yugoslavia, semi-private Radio Brač.
