[edit] History
The company was founded by Frederick Ziv in 1948 and was a subsidiary of his successful radio syndication business. In 1960 the company was purchased by United Artists and merged with UA's own television company to become Ziv-United Artists. In 1962, the name reverted back to United Artists Television after UA phased out the company, which later merged with MGM.
Today, all of the rights to Ziv's TV shows are distributed by MGM Television.

In the late-1970s and early-1980s, Americanised versions of Japanese anime series Captain Harlock, Flower Angel, and Candy Candy (among other series) were distributed by a company called Ziv International; however, its connection with the original Ziv (or its United Artists or MGM successors) is unknown.
